Anime Pilgrimage - Dandadan @ Ikaho Onsen 【 アニメの聖地巡礼 - ダンダダン @ 伊香保温泉 】

As I was planning my November Japan trip I learned that Jiji's house in the cursed town in Dandadan is based on Gunma's real existing onsen town Ikaho. While the cursed onsen and house with the staircase leading up to it doesn't exist, everything else is pretty much on point. This town is so... perfect, the center is so cozy, there is so much to see, the nature around is mind blowing, I had such great interactions with kind store owners. It was the first time I felt really at home and also sad for leaving a place. Anime introducing you to hidden gems like this is the kind of magic I live for.

Map In real life there is no stairway up to the cursed house from the shrine. When you turn directly left there is a curved path upwards that leads to a hiking trail, but there is a sign warning you about bear sightings 😬
